Metromecánica develops for F4E an automatic measurement solution based on dimensional inspection with GapGun sensor and integrated with a UR5 collaborative robot.
This portable automatic solution is capable of aligning itself with the real product to quickly and accurately measure the more than 1,200 gaps between the blocks of the Inner-Vertical Target component for the ITER nuclear fusion project. This operation, if performed manually, could take hundreds of hours while posing risks due to human error. The automation of dimensional control processes helps in these cases to improve productivity significantly by ensuring unrivalled data quality.
